Villas in Serifos
Topography acts as the primary design driver: contour lines define the placement of volumes, circulation, and the geometry of outdoor spaces. The design draws from traditional dry-stone walls, reinterpreted as linear stone structures that organize levels and connect spatial units. Extended stairways traverse the site, forming the main circulation spine while revealing the natural slope.
Outdoor spaces unfold as a sequence of pauses and viewpoints, articulated through restrained materiality — stone, wood, and earth — that enhances the dialogue with the landscape. Elongated pools, aligned with the geometry of the composition, act as reflective surfaces and an extension of the architecture. The project treats the landscape as its primary material, rethinking dry-stone walls as a contemporary tool for sustainable design and proposing a mode of living in harmony with the site.
